October 27, 2010 - IRVINE, Calif. -- In a contest for the largest prize ever offered on the geolocation platform foursquare, Mazda today announced they will award a new 2011 MAZDA2 subcompact five-door hatchback to one lucky music, style and gaming fan.
James Jordan, Mazda North American Operations' manager of alternative marketing, said his team sought an alternative approach to reaching young urbanites. "In looking to reach potential buyers and drivers, we wanted to connect with them at music, social media and group events," he said. "Foursquare is a perfect way to engage users online and off, and Mazda is looking forward to giving away a vehicle to someone whose cultural interests align with ours."
The Inner Driver Challenge, which was created in partership with the online publishing company Federated Media, includes three simple steps for prospective car owners to win:
Followers of MazdaUSA's social media channels on foursquare, Twitter and Facebook also will see special location announcements for where they can unlock the Inner Driver badge and instantly advance through the other steps. The contest for US-based contestants lasts until December 7th, and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
