SPEEDSOURCE-PREPPED MAZDA RX-8 TAKES THIRD WIN OF THE SEASON AND SECOND CONSECUTIVE TOP FINISH AT MIAMI 250
MIAMI - With their second consecutive race win and third win of the season, SpeedSource Race Engineering made themselves a serious contender for the overall Grand-Am Sport Touring Series championship this past weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. SpeedSource, racing the rotary-powered Mazda RX-8 sports car, enjoys a comfortable second place in team rankings and is hot on the heels of series leader Turner Motorsports with only three races remaining in the 2004 season.
Drivers Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell piloted the SpeedSource Race Engineering Mazda RX-8 through an extremely competitive field, edging out the Bill Fenton Motorsports Acura RSX Type-S for the checkered flag in a hard-fought, action-packed race.
With previous wins at the Phoenix Sport Touring 250 and the Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic, SpeedSource has quickly established themselves as the team to beat in the hotly contested Grand-Am Sport Touring Series.
The next race of the season will take place at Virginia International Raceway in Danville, Va., October 1-3.
