MAZDA’S ACCLAIMED EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM COMES TO MONTEREY

Students at Monterey High School To Experience Automaker’s New R.A.C.E Program

WHAT:   Mazda, through its just launched “Racing Accelerates Creative Education” (R.A.C.E.) educational program, will rev up students with real-world, exciting demonstrations of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) applications used throughout Mazda’s Motorsports activities and the automobile industry in general.

As a part of its curriculum, Mazda will present the following to more than 400 students ages 14-16 years old, grades 9 and 10, at Monterey High School:

  • A powerful, fully illustrated, interactive presentation that’s designed to show in an interesting, fun and engaging way how science, technology, engineering and math are central to Mazda’s success on the race track as well as in the marketplace.
  • Mazda Motorsports factory race driver and senior executives will be on hand to provide real life examples of what it takes to race at the highest level of the sport

  • Mazda is an engineering-based company
  • Mazda wishes to motivate the next generation of STEM superstars
  • Mazda’s prototype racing program would not exist without STEM!

 

VISUALS:            

  • Mazda's SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel Prototype Racecar
  • Aerodynamics demonstration using actual racecar components
  • Mazda’s professional race drivers in their fire-retardant driving suits

 

OTHER:  Mazda is racing with domestic, renewable, synthetic clean diesel fuel and the students will learn how their trip to their local fast food restaurant-- with a dash of science--helps power Mazda’s 200-mph race cars.
