Mazda RX-8 Concept World Debut

Description: Mark Field, President of Mazda Motor Corporation, revealed the Mazda RX-8 concept car to the world's press at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Jan. 9, 2001. The RX-8 features a 250 hp Renesis rotary engine, 50-50 weight distribution, four passenger seating and a freestyle four-door system with no center pillar.

Miata Zoomster

Description: Ford Motor Company presented over 24 show vehicles at the 2001 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Highlights included the Miata Zoomster - "Style Imagineering" was tapped to create the look of the ultimate Mazda Miata. The wide-body styling - four-inches wider in the front and six-inches wider at the rear - and custom front and rear fascia cloth hint at the extensive performance tweaks beneath the skin. From a turbocharged engine to high-performance brake pads, the Miata Zoomster celebrates Mazda's Zoom Zoom spirit.
